Our Dog Training Courses in Halifax

At Kennedy K9 Camp, we provide dog training programs tailored to every stage of your pet’s development — from puppy foundations to advanced obedience and beyond.

All training sessions are conducted on a one-on-one basis.

Puppy 101, Basic Obedience 1, and Basic Obedience 2 are structured as four-week courses. Each weekly session lasts for 60 minutes and is scheduled exclusively on weekends. (All 1:1 4 week courses are $640)

Advanced Obedience – off leash prep/off leash training for dogs who have completed Basic Obedience with us or elsewhere. 7 private 1:1 60 minute sessions. Transfer your obedience skills so your dog listens off leash. Training equipment included in cost of course. ( advanced obedience $1070)

Day School 1 is a comprehensive program that involves training two full days per week over four weeks. During this period, your dog will spend the day with us. Any training conducted by our staff is communicated to you, and we offer assistance in troubleshooting to help achieve similar results and progress to subsequent stages. ( Day school 1 $1500 )

Day School 2 closely resembles Day School 1 but additionally includes a private, one-on-one session with our trainers once per week throughout the four-week course. These private sessions are available exclusively on weekends. (Day school 2 $2000)

Advanced Obedience

Who it’s for: Dogs and owners ready for higher-level skills, proofing, and reliability in real-world
situations.
Tuition: $1,070 per dog

Our Training Philosophy

At Kennedy K9 Camp, we believe in training the individual dog in front of us with a fair and balanced approach.

We begin with positive, reward-based methods to build clear understanding and motivation.
Once your dog truly understands a command, we believe in helping them follow through consistently — not from dominance, but from a commitment to safety and reliability.
We train for real-life results: leash manners that prevent falls, stay commands that stop door-dashing, recalls that keep your dog safe.
We use food, toys, praise, and also life rewards — like going for a walk, greeting a friend, or earning freedom — to reinforce good behavior.
Finally, we remember that changes in behavior may signal health or environmental issues.

Training builds communication and trust, so we can better understand our dogs.
